Haven't done this in quite a while...

... and I need something to keep me awake while I attempt to do some more preparation for Monday... so it's time for NAME THAT TUNE!
You know the rules! Have fun!
1. I saw when you walked by / The love light in your eyes, / And I knew I must try / To win you more than as a friend. / I'm starting near the end, / And here I go again....
2. You tell me mistakes / Are part of being young, / But that don't right / The wrong that's been done.
3. Don't you ever feel sad, / Lean on me when times are bad. / When the day comes and you're down, / In a river of trouble and about to drown... (
mumstheword54)
4. My eyes were wide open, / But all that I could see is / Chapel bells tollin' / For everybody but me, / But I don't worry 'cause....
5. I ain't gonna do you wrong while you're gone, / I ain't gonna do you wrong 'cause I don't wanna. (
mumstheword54)
6. Other fellas call me up for a date, / But I just sit and wait, / I'd rather concentrate on.... (
mumstheword54)
7. I know right from wrong, / I know good music. / All I really want to know is....
8. Something happened to my heart the day that I met you, / Something that I never felt before. / You are always on my mind no matter what I do, / And everyday it seems that I want you more. (
mumstheword54)
9. I wanna jump but I'm afraid I'll fall, / I wanna holler but the joint's too small. / Young man rhythm's got a-hold of me too.... (
mumstheword54)
10. And if my woody breaks down on me somewhere on the surf route, / I'll strap my board to my back and hitch a ride in my wetsuit.
11. Yes, my heart stood still, / Yes, his name was Bill.... (
mumstheword54)
12. As I was walking down the street one day, / A pretty lady looked at me and said her diamond watch had stopped cold dead, / And I said.... (
mumstheword54)
13. Maybe I was cruel (I was cruel), / Baby, I'm a fool (I'm such a fool).
14. I have a voice, / I love to sing. / I sing like a girl, / I sing like a frog. (
mumstheword54)
15. Saturday night I was downtown, / Workin' for the FBI. (
mumstheword54)
16. Someday, I don't know how, I hope she'll hear my plea. / Some way, I don't know how, she'll bring her love to me. (
mumstheword54)
17. Round and round, / Up and down, / Round and round, / Up and down, / Round and round and a-up and down / And a one-two-three-kick, one-two-three-jump! (
mumstheword54)
18. But all my words come back to me / In shades of mediocrity. (
boz4pm)
19. Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee... (
mumstheword54)
20. In a coffee house Sebastian sat, / And after every number they'd pass the hat.
21. I've got no kick against modern jazz, / Unless they try to play it too darn fast / And change the beauty of the melody / Until they sound just like a symphony. (
mumstheword54)
22. Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone, / But Judy left the same time. / Why was he holding her hand / When he's supposed to be mine? (
mumstheword54)
23. This is no fiction, / This is no act, / This is real, it's a fact.
24. Did you find the directing sign on the / Straight and narrow highway? / Would you mind a reflecting sign? / Just let it shine within your mind / And show you the colors that are real. (
mumstheword54)
25. But a little gold ring you wear on your hand makes me understand / There's another before me, you'll never be mine, / I'm wasting my time.
Bonus:
26. Bomp bompbompbomp bomp bomp bompbomp bomp bomp bompbompbomp dang-a-dang-dang ding-a-dong-ding.... (
mumstheword54)
Phooey. LAUNCHcast didn't want to cooperate--there've been long stretches of the media player trying to open things and not being able to even though they showed up on the playlist. I wanted to hear some of those songs, too.... :P
Oh, well. At least I got some songs out of it.

Date: 2006-08-19 05:10 pm (UTC)10, on the right track... I think it was written by Brian Wilson. But it's not Beach Boys.
20, right group, but I won't mark it off unless someone gets the title (or what one might think is the title).
Other than that, well done! :)

Date: 2006-08-19 09:49 am (UTC)18 is Simon & Garfunkle. "Homeward Bound", I think it's called. That's certainly what's sung in the chorus, anyway.
