Peter Tork's gone.

He's looked frail for a while now, and there were rumors that he was having health problems, but still... sad, sad news. :'(

Nez has congestive heart failure and had to have quadruple bypass surgery last month.

I'm somewhat surprised that he's admitting as much as he does in the article, given that he's into Christian Science. But I do pray that he'll listen to his doctors and won't push himself too hard with this upcoming First National Band tour. Losing Davy to heart disease was bad enough; we don't need to lose Mike to it, too. (And I kind of hope Micky has told him so.)

By George, I think I've got it! Same URLs for everything, but I've *finally* updated the MFFC main page, the PFM page, and alllll the fics I've written for the last two years. Well, except for the stuff that's on [livejournal.com profile] cazadoretx.
It's taken all week, even using FrontPage, but it's DONE. Whoof.

Grumpf.

So Bravenet is discontinuing its free hosting on Bravehost as of July 30. (If this info was announced by email, I either didn't get it or didn't read the email thorougly enough; I found out thanks to surfing around on LJ.) Evidently slashing the storage space didn't do enough to get rid of spammers, so they're just getting rid of the free side altogether. Which means my choices are to move everything to another server yet again (I've had to move something like five times already in the last 13 years) or to finally break down and pay to keep my site on the Bravehost server.
Either way, I'm probably going to have to let the two extensions from MFFC proper--the fic site and the devotional--be deleted. If I pay for Bravehost, I can probably shift those subdomains over and not lose any existing outside links. The question is whether it's worth putting the money into the site now. And I'm not sure of the answer.
Thoughts?

From Peter's Facebook page:

Beloved Mob, I'm pleased to announce I have a clean bill of health. Dr found no indications of any residual tumor(s). I will get a check-up every 3 months, then every 6, then 1x /year. ACC can recur, so I'll be getting check-ups for almost the rest of my life, unless I'm 95 and tired, then I might not bother! Short of that, I'll have to be on the qui vive henceforth. Doesn't suck, this clean bill of health thingy.

My readers now have hard copies in their hot little hands, and I can finish settling into my new place and write fanfic with a free mind. :D Step one: hanging curtains!

In less happy news, for those of you who care but haven't heard yet: Peter Tork's cancer has recurred. :( Haven't heard much more about it than that, other than his publicist saying that he's "shaken but not stirred." (At least they're able to make jokes about it....)

PFM Update!

Haven't posted one of these in... years. :P Not since I got this LJ, anyway. If you don't know about PFM, the page is here.

This news is slowly making its way through Monkeedom, so I thought I should pass it on: Peter Tork has just been diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. Radiation should take care of it, and he hopes to be back on tour with Shoe Suede Blues in June, but of course he can use all the prayers he can get.
