In other news, Brothers K is getting to me. I know I have to make it through Book XII, but my inner forensic scientist keeps screaming that this case would never fly in modern America. :P I suppose the thing to do is just be grateful that I'm not Russian (and that there's enough Schiller in the book to keep me distracted).

I am currently on page 445 of 776 (at the beginning of Book IX).
Whoof.
No telling how much I'll actually retain, and there are certain parts that I'm not sure I want to retain, but still... not half bad for such short notice.

EDIT: At half past midnight, I'm to page 539 and taking a break; when I get back to it, I'm switching to my reading glasses. I've got a sinus headache, and it's affecting my vision. :P But at this rate I *might* finish before class.
In happier news, the oldest bud on my Christmas cactus is fully open. :)

EDIT #2: Nearly 3 a.m., page 656 (beginning of Book XII), and my eyes are crossing even with the reading glasses. So I'm giving up and going to bed. But the remaining 120 pages should be quite doable come morning.
