Dick Clark is gone, and Chuck Colson is gravely ill.
And I can't help wondering... I mean, I know God's better at OpSec than to have let the Mayans figure out when the End will be, but still.

*sigh*

I have to admit, since it says NO ONE knows the day or the hour, I'm thinking that anything that's predicted as being "it" is automatically excluded.

If the Mayans were still around, it would be the end for them. They made their own end-of-the-world every so often, and ritually destroyed their own civilization and built another one on top of it. It was never meant to apply to the rest of the world, since they believed they were the only race that counted for anything.

Still, I have to say I find that commercial for retirement planning amusing. (The one where it says if the world ends, you won't need them.) It reminds me of my first year at Bible College, and how everyone would go around before major exams saying hopefully "Maybe the Rapture will come before we have to take that test..."

(Speaking of the end of the world: We finally got to the "TV Hell" episode. Oh, good heavens, I laughed SO hard! "Dr. Sexy", LOL!)

That episode is GREAT! I absolutely loved the Trickster and was genuinely crushed when he died.

All the strange weather, and the revolts everywhere also have me worried...But we could just be seeing it because we're being told that 2012 is the end. It may not actually be. Or if it is it doesn't mean it's the complete end of humans/the Earth-it could just be the end of civilization as we know it. Something(s) big will change...

I can't tell if it's an attack from Downstairs or if Upstairs is setting the chessboard for something.
One thing's for sure, though: Team Free Will in this universe is a whole lot bigger than four people. :D

But certainly the chessboard is changing quite a bit lately; not to mention getting knocked around a lot between the weather and the earthquakes, etc. Not that it is for us to figure it out completely I suppose. But rather, keep our eyes open and do whatever it is He would have do in any given moment.

I roll my eyes at the brouhaha over the Mayan calendar. The same thing is going to happen this time as happened the last time the calendar ended: it'll start all over again. Besides, as many have pointed out, it doesn't include leap years, so the Mayan end of the world has already come and gone.

I don't see anything other than coincidence in Dick Clark dying while Chuck Colson is at death's door. Dick Clark was getting up there in years and had been weakened by a stroke not too long ago and health issues fell people all the time, and sometimes with less warning. It sucks, but that's life on the third rock from the sun.

I don't put much stock in a premillenial rapture because, from what I hear, it's based on some rather...interesting and liberal interpretations of a handful of verses. When there's a peace that sticks in Israel, then I'll start thinking it might actually be the end times. If I'm raptured and get a spectator seat for the ugliness, fabulous. If not, then time to batten down the hatches and hunker in for the long haul.
