Not directed at anyone particularly, but prompted (sort of) by a couple of posts on
fanficrants: for anybody who needs help picturing travel times in the US in general and in Texas in particular, I offer this bit of anonymous rhyme that, I can attest from long experience, is still true even in the age of the automobile and the interstate highway system and 70-mph speed limits between towns:
The sun has riz,

Date: 2011-11-15 01:29 pm (UTC)We drove from St Louis to southern Colorado earlier this year over the course of two long days. Just driving across Kansas seemed to take forever. Going east isn't must better, especially where Tennessee is concerned. I can't even imagine driving across Texas in any direction. I have only driven down into to Dallas from here, so I know that is a mere taste of the state.
