You know you're in Texas when the sparrows do everything in their power to spend as little time with their feet in the snow as possible. :D
Yep, the Snowpocalypse has hit here, too. I'm not sure how much we got last night--estimate at the airport is 3"--but it's been so cold that it did actually stick this time. Not that it's been all that pleasant without the snow. I've been under the weather and somewhat out of sorts anyway, but having to use the Internet downstairs where it's cold hasn't helped, nor has needing to leave the faucet running in the bathroom sink since Tuesday, and *then* we got hit with the *grumblesnarlsnap* rolling blackouts Wednesday morning while I was trying desperately to finish and upload a project. Could be worse, though--some friends came home to a frozen/burst pipe the other night. :(
(For reference, the average high for today is 60 F/16 C; we haven't been above freezing since the cold front hit Tuesday night.)
But. It's Friday, and the snow is pretty, and NCIS has been renewed, and SPN is back tonight. So. :)
ETA: SUNSHINE!!! Haven't had sun for days, either. :)

Date: 2011-02-04 08:26 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you've been feeling under the weather. Snow is indeed pretty but it's all but gone here. It's however extremely icy as there is very thin layer of water on the roads and around 0C so that it never melts properly.

Date: 2011-02-05 05:38 am (UTC)That and the electric companies' generators went out, causing rolling blackouts (which almost caused me to miss NCIS tuesday night and SPN and Smallville tonight) which in turn has led to gas lines messing up(thank heavens we have a fireplace), water pipes bursting and low water pressure which in turn has led to contaminated drinking water.
I had to check, just to make sure Sam and Dean did actually stop the apocalypse. Because seriously.

Date: 2011-02-05 08:33 am (UTC)But ew and ick and bleh to everything you're having to put up with (and yes, I think you are quite a bit west). At least the wind has finally shifted... I think the whole state's due for a few days of warmer weather until the next front hits.
