Going buggy, Parte the IIIrd

My beige bug buddy came back--I spotted him poking along through the living room, took pictures (see icon), and took him outside again. Apparently he doesn't like bright sunlight, so I put him in the shade of my plants on the porch, and he seemed pretty happy if speed of movement is any indication.
Anybody know what kind of bug he is? EDIT: Found! He's a Southwest ironclad beetle. (More here.)

Also had a cricket get in last night, but this one was smart enough to know that Big Moving Shape = Human = RUN, so I wasn't able to squish it *or* to chase it outside. Grr.

See how the shape is similar? Funky, eh? I wonder how it got in again? lol

Well, there's a gap below the bottom hinge on the front door where the weather stripping doesn't seal, and that seems to be where the bigger things (beetles, crickets, gecko) get in. I've tried a couple of times to get maintenance to fix it, but they haven't quite succeeded yet.

Aha! I knew it was a beetle! LOL!

OMG, the beetles here are NOTHING like those suckers...we only commonly have the typical flying brownish-oval ones that are like 1/4 of an inch big...

You were right! :D Eats lichen, according to the A&M entomology page. (Should I call him Alexander?)

We've got all kinds of crazy critters down here. I'm just glad this one appears to be harmless.
