This is what I love about baseball...
Oct. 17th, 2011 06:16 pm... and especially about my Cardinals, and especially about El Hombre.
It was the bottom of the eighth inning of Game 6 of the National League Championship Series, a game that St. Louis eventually won 12-6, sending them to the World Series opposite the Texas Rangers. Prince Fielder was up to bat for the Brewers for the last time that game, possibly for the last time as a Brewer. The Milwaukee fans, understandably, gave him a standing ovation.
And Albert Pujols, who might on paper look like Fielder's biggest NL rival, called time out to give the fans more time to say goodbye.
