I hate Latin.
Specifically, I hate the fact that Latin has no word order. If you give me "fierce where of the Aecean by the spear lies Hector," I will not necessarily untangle it into "where lies fierce Hector by the spear of the Aecean," especially when a) "to lie" looks a lot like "to throw," b) I'm in a hurry, and c) I've misunderstood the previous sentiment as "I wish you had killed me" instead of "I wish I had died by your hand," which happens to be a very important distinction in the context.
Virgil is a great poet, but I despise the way he twists sentences.

I think what I dislike especially are sentences without verbs. I haven't had many thrown at me, but quotations from Cicero are scary. All the understood action when there's no real action being done. *shudders*

But yeah, learning a language in which there is no set word order when your whole thought structure is that of a language which relies almost solely on word order for meaning would be.. difficult, yes. ^^ I say would be because I learned Czech when I was seven, and that has no worder order either, so Latin doesn't give me as much trouble, thankfully, though I've still had my disagreements with it.

Your journal does really weird things to comments, I've noticed. I've seen it claim there are four when only one shows up and that there's one when there are actually four, and a few times, like now, it will refuse to show your replies at all, even though I get the e-mails. Though other people's have done that, too, a few times.. it's odd.

So I guess I'll just reply here. ^^ I'm not sure I can figure out the acronym G/T.. Acrynom Finder says maybe it's gifted and talented.

Do you really even need articles, though? ^^;; They do help with the shades of meaning, but not having them doesn't really bother me. As to the method to the madness, I think the method is all in the inflections, which sometimes really doesn't help much. Other times it's just author's whim. ^^
