Funny how the Internet works...

I started out looking for information on Nellie Melba and wound up following a trail that led me to this article on fanfic posted today in the UK Telegraph's online book section. (It's pretty hung up on the erotica side of things, but at least the author takes note of the differences among fans re: RPF and publishing fanfic, as well as some historical examples of fanfic.)
