Better living through kitchen chemistry...
Mar. 7th, 2009 11:23 amDecided last night to see how Twinings Cherry Tea does iced. Followed the directions on the website (5 teabags, 1 qt. boiling water, dilute to 2 qts.) but didn't steep very long; I find that the hot tea gets too strong very quickly and figured the same would be true for the iced tea. Added sugar before diluting and left it in the fridge overnight. I also made up another quart to put in water bottles and freeze.
Well, the stuff in the fridge turned out quite well! It's not cherry Kool-Aid, and I may need to put in more sugar next time, but it was just what I needed this morning. :) I'll probably try the peach, too.
Apologies for past and future missed birthdays and other events and for sporadic updates and ignored meme tags and such like--except when work interferes, I need to focus pretty exclusively on my dissertation for the next month or so. I have a very tentative defense date of May 21 or 22, so I REALLY need to finish my draft by Easter so that I can make final revisions and give my readers a good month to get through it. I'll be around; just expect me when you see me.
