Major rants on other topics may be forthcoming, but this one I had to get out of my system.

I haven't said anything about what's going on in Eldorado. Short version: I'm very glad it's going as well as it has been; I'm heartsick for the women and children who have been caught in this web of evil and pray that they can find hope and healing; and the lamestream media continues to prove itself to be lame.
But THIS made me mad:

Gerry Goldstein, a San Antonio lawyer flanked by nine other attorneys the church hired, said the search of the temple is analogous to a law enforcement search of the Vatican or other holy places.

Now, I can understand the position an attorney might find himself in, having to defend the indefensible (although in a case like this, the guy could have refused to provide his services). But that is a totally false analogy, if for no other reason than that the Catholic Church does not demand the kinds of abuses that are the norm among the FLDS. And if it did, the Italian police would be well within their rights to conduct the same sort of raid. Holy places are supposed to glorify God, not gratify the desires of men or provide cover for criminal activity!
And if Mr. Goldstein cared to read the Tanak for himself, he would note that two of the persistent practices that caused God to prompt the total destruction of His own temple were infanticide in the cult of Molech and prostitution in the fertility cults that moved into the temple under the wicked kings of Judah. Compared to that, the FLDS creeps are getting off easy.

Bah.
Hooray for the good guys.
