Apropos of a discussion over at Mari's, the casting call for Eustace has gone out. I love the way it's worded. :)
Been watching the BBC version tonight, incidentally, and although I probably noticed this in times past, it really hit me tonight: Eustace's argument for cutting the sailors' water ration is completely bogus. Reading the wrong books obviously didn't teach him that perspiration increases a person's need for water. Wonder if anyone will call him on it in the new version....
Then again, today's not been a good day for me to have patience with creeps (even though I know Eustace turns out okay). On top of being down with some kind of 12-hour bug, I got *two* calls today from a group supposedly taking a poll of 18- to 24-year-old males, and this same group has called me once before for this same poll. The last time I told the guy that I was on the National Do Not Call List, and he said--get this--"Oh, it's okay, ma'am. We're not selling anything." *headdesk* And then when I told him this was the third time I'd been called, he hung up on me before I could finish my sentence. AND THEN I was poking around on a (family-safe) BB I sometimes visit, only to find that one of the threads had been hit by a porn spammer, so I left the site, ran Ad-Aware, and found a Trojan. Grrrrrrrrrr.

PPCers, rejoice: there may be a RL version of Bleeprin on the horizon.

So the authorities have captured five doctors in connection with the London and Glasgow bombings. Made me think of two things almost at the same time:
- G. K. Chesterton always said that average, working-class people don't go in for anarchy....
- I have a Muslim friend who's just starting his residency. I can only imagine the headaches he's having over all this.

And is it just me, or does this remind anyone else of this? (If the second link doesn't work, try here.)

EDIT: Almost forgot the one discovery that made me happiest today: Schwinn makes trikes for grown-ups! :) I can't balance on a bike, but a trike might just be feasible.
