... for someone who doesn't go in for Lent, I'm having a pretty good one.
Case in point: Check out the following lightbulb moments I've had just this weekend:
Input #1: Statement someone makes about the "deep magic" in HP, suggesting that JKR borrowed the idea from CSL. I think she hasn't quite got it right, but eh.
Input #2: Statement a friend makes at Bible study (we've just started Micah) that maybe God had to judge people harshly in the Old Testament to prove the fact that He is just before people could understand His mercy.
Input #3: Statement by Fondy about the Deep Magic that I think applies more to the Deeper Magic.
Lightbulb moment #1: CSL illustrated point #2 perfectly. The Deep Magic is justice. The Deeper Magic is mercy, which God has always intended to show toward His creation.
Lightbulb moment #2: Not only that, but the Deeper Magic is a sign of the Emperor-over-Sea's foreknowledge. Aslan is truly "slain from the foundation of the world."
Cue boggling, bouncing, fireworks, etc.
:)
In other news, the Witch-king story is done. You can find it here, but I recommend against reading it after dark.
Oh, I almost forgot my quote of the weekend, which is something I said after going to see Twelfth Night yesterday (and which should give you a picture of the hilarity of the production): "You don't generally associate Scott Joplin with Shakespeare!"
