Just got back from seeing LWW.
I think I'd give it a 90 to 95. There were some changes that were unnecessary, and some things that were just eh, but it is certainly visually stunning and faithful to the spirit (if not always the letter) of the books, and some of the changes actually helped. There were even some nods to the old BBC version. And I can definitely see signs that they're setting it up for all seven books.
It is DEFINITELY worth seeing at least once. I think I'll have to see it at least one more time to digest everything. But I think we'd have to somehow mesh the best parts of the BBC version with the best parts of this to get the perfect movie version.
And you simply MUST stay through the first part of the credits. I don't know why it's there and not elsewhere, but there's extra footage about 30 seconds in.
There. I think I avoided spoilers. Can't make promises for the comments, though....
