Whoa.

Just saw a trailer for Texas Rising--and I almost wish I had cable. They've even included a couple of clips of JDM as Deaf Smith!

I saw the first commercial for that last night. It looks very interesting, and I'm sure you Texans are even more intrigued!

Yea, verily! A few bits I'm not so thrilled about--some of the battle aftermath scenes look pretty gruesome, and I suspect they'll be showing a lot more of the Yellow Rose than I really want to see... but yes, it definitely looks intriguing.
It looks like I'll be able to see it online, though, since the History Channel evidently posts full episodes for free. :)
