I've figured out how to sum up my problem with SPN Season 9 in three words.

Frodo in Osgiliath.
By rights we shouldn't even be here.
(Leaving aside the fact that Dean has always been Samwise, and I would have expected his plain hobbit sense to have asserted itself against the Ring Mark by now....)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there had better be some EPIC payoff coming next week for this season to have been worthwhile.

lol, it took me a long time to figure that out- I could not remember when Frodo was ever in Osgiliath (shows how much I remember that part of the movie).

I've been enjoying the season, though I'm not sure how much of that is because it's good. (it's definitely better than 8) and how much is because I have someone to watch it- not quite with, because we're 2,500 miles apart- but at the same time.

I really hope there is epic payoff, but who knows. I'm pretty sure we'll have a massive cliffhanger next week, though.

I still don't trust that these set of writers have them definition of "epic payoff" that is anywhere near most of the rest of us.
