[sorry, this is in response to your latest entry, the one you don't want us to comment on--BUT it's about the Latin part, not the meme:)]

Isn't the vocabulary-poor thing a double-edged sword? I mean, it would be no fun for philologists if there were a Latin or Greek word for every English or German one. All they could say most of the time is, "this comes from the Latin XX, which means the same thing." Plus, it would have been great fun to write poetry in Latin--think of the possibility for double entendre!
